I have spread my self out on which genre of EDM music i create from Ambient to Hardcore. The first GOOD song ive ever made was “Runnin’ From Sheep”. dont ask about the name i thought of random words. Runnin’ from Sheep is a FAST paced electro song that is kind of short. After that i went into Techno and messed w/ that and made tracks like Join Them

Wreckless Beats

September 2, 2007 by audiojammusic

Here at Wreckless Beats I believe in original song writing and innovative techniques. I strive to be a trendsetter within the world of music. I put no limits or boundaries on creativity because I feel that music should represent the heart & soul. Music should always have conscious substance and positive human morality underlying within as well. The music and sound itself should make a lasting impression on those who listen. So I will continue to push the envelope with my musical creations and arrangements…. and I will always stray away from the expected route, make my mark, and blaze my own trail on this beautiful journey of emotional sound and music.

Image is Everything

Image is Everything

Image is everything. Image is the complete package – artist/band name, look, performance, merchandise, and style, to how that brand is marketed. A stage name can be a descriptive statement of the image you or your band project. Be unique and interesting to look at in some way….build your own unique stage persona.

This is your time. Don’t screw around. Image is everything. If you want to make it big, we can help. If you don’t, stop right here, and stop wasting everybody’s time.

There are tons of lazy artists out there that expect everything for nothing. Guess what, they get nothing. If you want to make it big, it takes work. We can help you, but we need you to help us help you. We can promote active accounts. Blank accounts are useless to us, and even more importantly, useless to you.

If you look at any music site out there, and check out the top artists, you will see that they have done the work. Bio’s, blogs, pics, maximum song capacity, etc. You will very seldom see the other artists because they are at the bottom of the list.

Stats show that visitors will only view so many pages at any given site, and will only view blank profiles once. We know that the initial page set up can be very time consuming and even quite tedious. But you only have to do it once, form there it’s just maintenance. The results you get back will be well worth the effort.

Our goal is to push the little guy. It is, dare I say impossible to promote nothing. Therefore I say, take this opportunity you have been given to promote yourself. This means, maximum songs, bio’s, blogs, forums, whatever it takes to get fans and exposure.

Let’s start from the beginning:

Image is everything:

Tell everybody who you are, what you’re about, style, genre, influences, everything you can. This will help your fans relate to you. If you have pictures, use them, let everyone see who you are. It is said a picture is worth a thousand words. This is so true. Your fans need to see who you are.

Performances and Gigs:

This is key, If you have any upcoming shows or gigs, people MUST know. If you don’t promote these shows, it could mean the difference of 10 people showing up or 10.000 people showing up.

Merchandise:

Let’s not mess around with this issue. This is where you make the money. Items, items, items. You can sell song downloads , you can sell CD’s, you can sell T-shirts, or anything associated with your band.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity. It’s huge and can make or break you.

Style:

There are many different styles out there. You need to be a little different, not much , just a little different. For example, if your genre is rap. Pick rap, hip hop. This will open up new genres.

Stage Name:

This is so important, it’s scary. You want to pick something different, something original. I suggest you do the research, and find an original name to avoid internet confusion. You might want to Google if your new. Here’s a thought, if you enter a name and your Google is 1 of 200,000. pick another name. Lower is better.

Be Unique:

This includes all of the above. Name, style , genre, etc. If you want to stand out above the crowd, you need to do more, post blogs, join forums, keep in touch with your fans and friends, update all new information.

Don’t be afraid to be too aggressive, there is no such thing. The competition out there is massive. The fans need and want to know everything. How else can they make an educated decision. The more you give, the more you get. GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT!!!!!

AudioJam’s Featured Artist July 2007

June 29, 2007 by audiojammusic

Barnseyfla. Genre – New Age

I was born in Buffalo, NY on April 19, 1961. My immediate family was always very creative through either music or art. My Grandmother played Piano at various movie houses for the silent films in the 20’s and 30’s. My Father and Mother were musically and artistically inclined respectively.

I have been playing the Piano since the age of 3 and was always a terror to my piano teachers, never wanting to play the lesson but always wanting to feel the music instead and play what was inside my head. When I was 12, my mother finally signed my sister and myself up for Guitar lessons. Although I had no interest in playing the guitar and did not feel this would be of any benefit, the instructor worked with us for 6 months. He was teaching us guitar chords, my sister the guitar and for me, the relationship of the guitar and their chords to the piano. It was great and I credit him with helping me to understand how to play out my emotions and feelings.

I guess I composed my first Ballad at age 15 for my father. It was funny as he always called me “The professor”. I always thought that would somehow become my nickname, but my friends were always calling me “Barnsey”, and that’s what stuck. I love to travel extensively and find the most relaxing vacation to be a cruise. I really enjoy working with other musicians and find that its helps create a very emotional edge about my music. It is the one venue in which I can truly express all of my tears, fears, laughter and love for all of those around me. I feel “Music is the window to the soul. Put your negative emotions into being creative and never take them out on another human being.”

I was always the realist when I was younger. I wanted to enter the music field but never felt the right timing then and thought that in such a competitive field and with all of these other wonderful musicians out there that I would never stand a chance. So thus, I went into financial business for myself and have ran numerous successful mortgage banking and mortgage lending firms for the last 24 years, moving to Florida in the process. I continued to compose and play new music for the people who mattered most in my life, which was my family & my friends.

Funny how times change and the Internet was probably the biggest catalyst in that change for the music industry. It has brought us so much closer and has given us all a real gift. I must say setting up my MySpace personal and music page, was the most positive experience of my musical life. It has allowed me to meet some very wonderful and talented musicians, singers and artists of all walks of life and share our talents with each other and the public (our fans). It has inspired me to realize that it does not matter how old you are or where you are in life, good music and the arts should play an important role in everyone’s existence. I have new found inspirations since my mom’s passing, and the emotional well just keeps pouring out new songs weekly. That combined with all of the new people I have met, been exposed to and inspired by, have allowed me to open myself to listening and composing all types and styles of music.

Out of this entire experience and most of all, I look forward to continue composing and writing new music and playing them….just for you!

80’s Memories
A Father’s Love
Dance to the Trance
Home is in My Heart
Night Experssions
One Four Three
Secrets
Sunday Morning Dance
The Awakening

Marketing Your Music – Get Started

June 24, 2007 by audiojammusic

Promo Tip #1

A music artist must start somewhere, that’s usually locally, but it’s better to not just dive in without a plan. But begin you must. Create a plan with some ideas and set goals as to what you need to accomplish weekly, monthly, and yearly. Start small and make it progressive. Reach bench marks and keep at it.

Marketing Your Music – Get Started

Getting your music out to the masses is critical and while most bands will start out locally and depend on word of mouth, it’s important to remember the millions of potential fans around the world. Yes, this sound like an awesome task, but with the internet, the world is much smaller than you think.

Before you hit the superhighway, do some research and set up a plan. Ask yourselves a few questions like:
1) Do we have a budget?
2) Who is our target audience?
3) What exactly do we want to accomplish? CD sales? Popularity? Mass hysteria???

There are many more questions you’ll need to answer and as you delve into the online music world, you’ll soon discover that there is a million things you don’t know. But getting started and taking that first step is definitely a step in the right direction.

Let’s get started with our first question…Do we have a Budget?

Well, lucky for many starving artists the internet provides hundreds if not thousands of avenues for promoting yourselves for little to no money. Music promotion sites are popping up everywhere and most will allow you a free account. You can set up your biography, upload your mp3’s, announce your upcoming events and even sell your CD’s and merchandise.

Many if not all will offer bigger and better services when you upgrade, but even the base account will get you out there and have people exposed to your music…it’s a great place to start.

If you have a budget for promotion, then use it. But before you do, join these promotion sites free and see what kind of response you receive. If you join and find there’s no traffic to your pages and no real activity, beware. If you find after even a month that you are noticing a half decent response, consider an upgrade and reap the benefits.

One thing I’ll mention here is to be active and consistent however that avenue allows. By this I mean, check out the other artists, participate in forums, comment and rate others, update your profiles regularly and find ways to interact with the fan base or listeners. If you sign up and let your account just sit waiting for people to drop in your lap, you may be a more than a little disappointed.

From our experience, those artists who put out a 100% effort are the same artists who rise in the rankings and get the most visits and plays.

Who is Your Target Audience?

Ok, this sounds simple enough. You want to focus on those that are interested in your genre, right? You’d be amazed at how many artists don’t define their music! You may have a general genre for your group while some of your songs may lean a little towards a different genre…make sure you let people know.

One thing to keep in mind is that whether searching on the search engines or simply searching on the music promotion sites, people most often will be looking for the genre they want to hear. Remember, they don’t know you from Adam yet, so they won’t be searching out your name. Use the genre labels seriously and you’ll notice a huge difference.

And finally, What Exactly Do We want to Accomplish?

Depending on your band or personal objectives, you may wish to attract people locally for gigs you play on the weekends. Maybe you want to get your CD out to the radio stations and scouting agencies. Or Maybe you want it all…fame, fortune and a Platinum CD! Whatever your goals, right them down and work to accomplish them even taking little steps at a time.

If it’s local gigs you want to promote, find sites that will allow you to post events by location. If you have a CD or are ready to launch one, find the sites that will give you the most exposure and help you get the word out. If you want fame and fortune, go for the gusto and pull everything you have into promotion sites that will allow you the furthest reaches.

Your main objective is to be consistent. Do some research using the search engines to find out what kind of sites are out there that would offer what you need. Check out the information they require like photos, bios, etc, and make sure you are equipped with the right tools.

Once ready, start joining and setting up your accounts. Then, put some time aside each day to visit and work each account. It won’t take long to start seeing the results of your hard work.
